When we were in Key West we found conconuts an the kids brought a few back. I have been trying to start a tree from the nuts for a while. This one from Breann was lying on the concrete and I told Shirl to get rid if it, when she picked it up roots had developed on the bottom so i planted it and now the plant has sprouted. Thank you Breann.

How long does it take for a coconut tree to grow and bear fruit?
Mike It takes about a year for the tree to mature. It can grow up to 50 nuts. We are in the far north for the tree so we will be lucky if it survies
