Morning walk at the lake

Tammy , Mum and Luke all out for our morning walk. Hope that you all enjoy it also.

Red winged blackbird. Such a sweet voice.

This is a butcher bird so named because they like to impale there prey on a thorn and go to eating. They have a bill similar to a hawk.

This is crane #2. She is also on her nest about 200 yards away from the first crane.

This is her mate about 10 feet away and guarding her,

This is a sandhill crane setting eggs. Her neck was stretched out and we thought she was dead but the eye moved and gave her away.

This church is by the Clay county courthouse. We saw the steeple and we went to investigate. Beautiful church so while I was taking pictures a man approached from the church building from across the street. It turned out to be the vicar. We chatted for a minute and he asked what I was doing there. I told him our granddaughter was getting married in the courthouse. He invited us to hold the wedding at this church. I declined telling him that we have made other plans. I thanked him for his offer. So Kimi you could have been in this church ,but with our family the roof would have fallen in.

We went to Sea World yesterday, had a good time. Look at the green around his eyes.

We went for our walk at the lake today. Mum and Tam enjoying themselves. The eagle was also there.

Trip to the coast

We had a good trip over to the coast. Lots of birds to see today. A lot that we could not identify. Mum was talking about how we never see any white pelicans and low and behold what should appear but santa and eight tiny reindeer no no wrong story, two white pelicans.
As we entered the wildlife road the falcon was sitting in the tree. He is beautiful. Of course we stopped at Kims doughnuts, They were so good. Kathi has a new camera so we shoukd expect a lot more pictures from Hawaii.

The woodpecker was back today and so was the hawk. Woodpecker did not like the hawk at all. Mum set out a pot for flowers and Bo loved it.

Mum was working in the yard and she spotted two of these great birds. Heres hoping that they nest in one of the trees. The squirrels do not like them at all. They were chasing them around.

Trip to Solomons Castle

Our trip to the castle was very interesting. Good trip.

Mum and I often say there are no gators on our walk in St Cloud. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! As you can see. Just a baby about 2 ft long.

The retention pond was beautiful and the reflection quiet.

We also saw this falcon. Mum and I had never seen one before. He is abeautiful bird.

As we were leaving Merritt Island birding area we saw this monster across the canal. He was over 12 ft long and the biggest Mum and I have ever seen in the wild.
