Our afternoon visitor

Mum and I were sitting down and taking it easy when I saw Boo ( his whole body ) appear in the door window glass, I went to se what gives and Boo was in his stalking stance and this was in the corner. The snake was really annoyed, and Boo was back at a distance. It is a black indigo. A good five feet long. I chased him out ,he passed under the patio and into the flowers where he climbed to the top. Cole and the girls were taking pictures. That is our excitment for the day.

The picnic table is my latest project. The cathouse is finished.

Last Sunday Mum and I went down to Highlands Hammock. It is south of us in Sebring. Lots of 30 minute trails to walk. The park was constructed by the CCC in 1934. " tidbit" Uncle George was in the ccc in the late 30ths. He was in Colorado for maybe a year. He had a lot of pictures and I remember looking at them. Mum and I had a good time. Make use of the good times, for some they are few and far between.

Our daily walk started with the thistle. The blossom is beautiful and the green is so thorny, next was the dead mole on the bridge railing. And owl must have dropped it. Then as we were coming back on our return walk Mum spotted this racoon, I believe he was sick cause he was weaving while staring ahead.

Tom was checking the salt in the water conditioner when he discovered that the wrens had built a nest and laid 3 eggs. I guess that these are the same ones that Mum saw in the shed.

The sandhill cranes are quite busy at the lake. We caught this one turning her eggs.

Cathouse

We are currently constructing a cathouse ( we are not taking in hookers from the trail ). Keep looking at this blog and you will see the progress.

The bathroom is done.

Mum asked if we could paint the bathroom. She is worth more than a paint job.

The thing hanging on the cabinet is a moose. From Kimi.

Kimi sent the camel and we are putting it to good use. The hol;e is there to turn off the water if we have to.

Mum went into the shed when she heard a fluttering sound There were two Jenny Wrens in yhe shed, I cught this one setting on the wheel.

Cades Cove

Not much today but I thought I would share one of my favorites from Cades Cove.

Today we went to Sebastian Inletmstarted with a beautiful sunrise.

Lots of fisherpeople on the beach.

I love to take pictures of the beachsand.

Large flock of skimmers just soaking up the sun.

Surfing looked great.

Finally LUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!
